best gift ever

I'm not going to lie..........almost every Saturday I go to Taco Bell to get a bean burrito. My junk food of the week! The best part of this burrito is the fire sauce. The people that work there are no doubt irritated by me always asking for a handful of the stuff. So.......this jar I got from Kim and Justin, (family), was one of my best gifts. Kim told me this had been in the making for a long time. I believe the Taco Bell staff was equally annoyed by her but I don't care because I'm soooooo happy. I may need fire sauce rehab! Today was a beautiful December day. I love it when the winter sun streams through the window. The ornaments were glistening with a magnificent array of colors. With all the grey skies we get in Ohio, the sun was wonderful gift.

oh, deer

Odie was going crazy today when he saw a bunch of deer outside. I've never seen such big deer. They were running in a group of about ten. The photo I took isn't very clear because they were going so fast I was lucky to catch one. Otis was a little intimidated. Go figure!!

mirror for Sue and Denis

I'm making a new mirror for Sue and Denis,(my aunt and uncle). They really liked my mirrors in AZ and I thought they'd like a miniature version of the huge mirror I made. I have a little time right now so it was a perfect time to do this one.

Thank you to Dr. Joe on the comment about Sydney. She was picked up on Sunday so I'm a little lonelier in my studio without her.

Billy and I

I was out the other night with some friends and one friend mentioned seeing Billy Idol on T.V. He said he was wearing a tweed coat and singing Christmas carols without his trademark snarl on his face. It reminded me of my first year in college art class. We were asked to do a pen and ink portrait of ourselves with a celebrity. Yes...that's right....I chose Billy. It was the eighties after all. Notice the fists. Yah...baby. Just reliving my youth.

Is Otis tired?

My poochie Otis looks sooooo tired tonight. He spent most of his day being ornery so now he's sleepy. He doesn't like the cold weather at all. His paws get cold in the snow so he gets out and does what he needs to do at warp speed. We have to play inside with him because walks are out when it's rainy and cold. Maybe I spoke to fast......I here Odie whining so I'll play ball with him again!

au revoir Sydney

Sydney is complete. I finally had to put my paint brush down because I'm a perfectionist and I'd keep going forever. I'm very pleased with the final results and I can't wait to here if the new owners love her. I think I'll miss Sydney....right now she looks great in my studio. Tomorrow she'll be going to be photographed for my website.

My new tables are in. Yeh!! I should've ordered them from this company eight weeks ago. They're adjustable and very sturdy. I did get the benches that Bob made for me. At least they got one thing done for me!

I'm adding the final touches on Sydney. I think she looks great.

Yesterday I spent the afternoon on a mosaic. Today I worked on the background for Sydney. I will probably start the flowers and the shadows tomorrow. She's starting to come together for me. This is usually the point in the painting that I start to get excited. Check back tomorrow!

I'm making some progress with Sydney. She will be my only focus until I can get her done. She really is a very pretty dog. I also have a mosaic mirror due for Christmas. I'm starting to think I need a little elf as an assistant to help me. Would be nice!

I can't believe that I was in 78 degree weather yesterday and this is what I woke up to today. It is getting so cold! Winter has arrived in Ohio. I'm trying to be positive!!

pinnacle peak

When I'm in AZ I get to look at Pinnacle Peak everyday. It's not a terribly huge mountain but it's a nice size for climbing. In fact, there's a trail that many people use to climb it. I'd like to do that sometime. I think it would be a blast! I can't enlist anyone I know to come with me! I think I might be on my own for that one.

I'm back in OH tomorrow. I here we're getting a little snow. Fun, fun. I'll be back working on Sydney this week. Check back for updates. Here's a shout out to all my relatives and friends in snowy Canada, heh!!

bad break for Brownies

After two pretty rainy days, it has finally cleared up in AZ. Today we went to see the Browns play the Cardinals in Glendale, AZ. The Browns lost after what I thought was a bad call at the end of the game. Ugh. There was a great Cleveland crowd there! We were all a little fiesty ....... go figure!

Update on the tables. There will be no tables from Bob. He told me I was now sixth on the list so I fired him. Actually, I was so mad I was speechless and got rid of him later that day. I found a company that can get me two tables in about twelve days. So long Bobbo.....it's been real. I'll be back in Ohio on Tuesday. I've got a lot of work in front of me. See you soon.
