spring is coming

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.

journal page - Spring is coming

Spring is in the air!! I'm so ready to put away the winter coat and boots! I will say goodbye to winter and say hello to spring!

journaling

The only thing that I accomplished today was a journal page. Other things came in the way of working all day! I hate it when that happens...lol!

This is so beautiful. I love the red boots being such a pop of color in the painting. Well I tried and miserably failed at my attempt of multimedia work. I'll go back to my corner now and just admire your work from afar. hugs!

Believe me Sheila! You just have to do a lot of playing around! Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Gesso is my best friend!!

You have some might fun looking paints and stuff to play with!

I hate it when interuptions happen too - like the buzzer of the dryer telling me to take the clothes out - Oh darn it all - the clothes can wait! What's a few wrinkles when inspiration hits.
Love the young lady who looks ready for Spring!!
My heart filled with Art when I saw it!!

Hi Manon and Otis-Pants. Oh, another beautiful journal page. Have you ever tried to use the Shutterfly book thingy ma bob? I bet your work would be pretty on one of these, but then there wouldn't be the texture. There, I suggested something for you and nixed the idea all in the same breath. That's what friends are for. I haven't given up on my idea of your book publishing deal, tho. You are destined for fame and fortune!!! Or at least a free cup of coffee if you ever visit Dallas. : ) xxoooo

Well I would say that's accomplishing a lot...your journal page is a beautiful original painting!

Maisie sends kissies to you and Otis!

P.S. Love your side bar slide show thingie.

Thanks everyone!!
Nancy... I've never heard of Shutterfly.... I'll look into it!
Linda..... I think the side bar thingie is cool too! It makes your eyes goofy if you look at it to long!

Sweet! And I love it when you publish images of your process. What is the big 'Golden' tub to the right? glue? Paint?

Manon Doyle said...

Hey Kelley!

To the right is Golden's Soft Gel (Matte). I love the stuff!

Your new works are hurting my heart -- in a good way. You perfectly capture the magic that is spring in Ohio. The light, the brutal last days of winter when you are almost out of your mind from the gray. Really exceptional work!

Also, I saw Brutus at the Ohio State game and I thought of you. He is yours now. I am rooting for the Boston College Eagles (my school) and if they get eliminated, the Buckeyes. Good luck!
