how to survive winter

survive winter

This post is dedicated to my friend, Ces, and my friend, Renee. Ces lives in Texas and wears a heavy winter coat in 45 degrees. Renee is Canadian, like me, and probably has her flip flops on in minus degree weather!! lol

1. Always wear warm boots that are super cute!

winter boots

2. You should be styling and profiling with your best winter outerwear!

fun in the winter

3. Chop some wood for your fireplace! OK... maybe I didn't chop it but I brought it in!

4. Warm those feet by the fire!

5. Paint some hearts in the snow!

6. Sit under your studios lights to get some rays!

7. Eat lots of your favorite comfort food!

8. If it all fails..... get yourself to somewhere warm where you can *chill* and dream about all your blogger friends that live in the frozen tundra!

HAHAHAHAHHA! Oh my goodness. You are a riot. Heck yes! If I looked like you not only will I be warm, I will be HOT! No, SIZZLING HOT!!! You got me all excited and now I am hot. My husband exclaimed horror last night when I flipped the gauge to 74 for a few minutes just to keep me warm for a bit. I had to lower it to 64. Well, sisterfriend, you are a true BEAUTY and a CUTEY so that makes you a HOTTIE! Actually I went for a walk yesterday so that got my blood flowing again. It's been curdled and freezing from too much sitting while drawing. Thank you sweetheart. You made my day. I am on call today and I will definitely be coming back to look at your photos again. THANK YOU!

HAHAHHAHHA!

I doubt if Renee is wearing flip flops. I wear flip flops, that is why I am cold - wearing inappropriate clothes.

By the way, you know that this post is just begging for a rebuttal! Watch out Baby! I am putting on my boots and they are no cutie winter boots either! HAHAHAHHA!

Hey everyone!! Thanks so very much! This whole post was inspired by Ces and Renee. Renee and I heard Ces complaining about the Texas cold. She's obviously never lived through a Canadian winter. We may have to fly her to Winnepeg in late January and then she'll appreciate 45 degrees!!

Ces..... i look forward to your Texan rebuttal.... bring it on sister...lol!

Ooooh and the monkey hat!! Yup... it's my favorite. It's a little childish but I love it!!

Sheila.... you are so wrong my friend!! I'm almost 5'5"..... not in model territory! LOL! If Sun Chips called, however, I think I'd have to promote their product!! Yum!

Looooved your post today Teri!!

Thanks Elisabeth!!

What fun photos and advice, Manon--LOVE it. Here in Coastal North Florida, we are ready for a break from the long overnights in the 20s. Since this is not normal for us, many do not have the right clothes (as per your suggestions) for cold days and colder nights. My favorite suggestion is to make hearts in the snow--that is archetypal Manon for sure!

I am so glad the goddess made you smile Manon. Thank you! For coming by and for your very kind words.

A long time ago I had a woman in my life named Nanon and she was very wise, I think of her when I see your name.

Manon, this may seem like a silly word to use, but this whole post is adorable!! I love it. Just perfect!

And to Ces... my daughter and her husband are transplants to Dallas. She went to school in Virginia, lived there for a while, and has vowed never to return "home" to the grey skies and lake-effect snow.

Good advice! It's been bitterly cold and snowy over here in the Irish-Dublin too, i'll edfinitely take some of your suggestions on board..! Cork and Waterford are great counties, been there loads, Cork especially is great craic!

Christy DeKoning said...

Manon, I love you sweetie!
This put more smiles on my face than the most recent post by The Onion.
Yes, I'm cold here too.
But I'm cranking the heat and sitting on my fingers occasionally to warm them up.
But this is a good reminder to call the chimney guy today so we can finally have a fire again (birds, you understand...)
The hat rocks.
The boots are super cute
The slippers, warm and comfy.
Makes me want to just embrace winter.

...
maybe next year :-)

oh and I have some amazing, outstanding news today. I blogged.

Oh my gosh! yes you do have 4 bags. Oh gosh. This is not fair. I have to walk more than a mile during my lunch half-hour.

See! That is enough to knock some sense into me. I am not that industrious as you are when it comes to exercise. I worked from home today and was overwhelmed with requests and tasks so I missed my walk. Tomorrow I will have to double my mileage and I will think of you hugging your bag of Sun Chips and smile!

Ha such a fun post! It's a real winter also overhere in Holland. Sometimes i hate it when i had to go to work and it's snowing and freezing, but i would miss it when it's always sunshine. You look so pretty and cute. :-) I have another tip: drinking some delicious glühwein by the fire.

Sweet frosty greetz for you from a snowcovered Holland!
