This post is dedicated to my friend, Ces, and my friend, Renee. Ces lives in Texas and wears a heavy winter coat in 45 degrees. Renee is Canadian, like me, and probably has her flip flops on in minus degree weather!! lol
1. Always wear warm boots that are super cute!

2. You should be styling and profiling with your best winter outerwear!

3. Chop some wood for your fireplace! OK... maybe I didn't chop it but I brought it in!

4. Warm those feet by the fire!

5. Paint some hearts in the snow!

6. Sit under your studios lights to get some rays!

7. Eat lots of your favorite comfort food!

8. If it all fails..... get yourself to somewhere warm where you can *chill* and dream about all your blogger friends that live in the frozen tundra!

fill your heart with art

HAHAHAHAHHA! Oh my goodness. You are a riot. Heck yes! If I looked like you not only will I be warm, I will be HOT! No, SIZZLING HOT!!! You got me all excited and now I am hot. My husband exclaimed horror last night when I flipped the gauge to 74 for a few minutes just to keep me warm for a bit. I had to lower it to 64. Well, sisterfriend, you are a true BEAUTY and a CUTEY so that makes you a HOTTIE! Actually I went for a walk yesterday so that got my blood flowing again. It's been curdled and freezing from too much sitting while drawing. Thank you sweetheart. You made my day. I am on call today and I will definitely be coming back to look at your photos again. THANK YOU!
HAHAHHAHHA!
I doubt if Renee is wearing flip flops. I wear flip flops, that is why I am cold - wearing inappropriate clothes.
By the way, you know that this post is just begging for a rebuttal! Watch out Baby! I am putting on my boots and they are no cutie winter boots either! HAHAHAHHA!
VEry Good Advice. And sip a glass of red wine?
LOL! yes boots are the prerequisite for snow season! yours are darling!
you look adorable and I love your wood bag! very chic!
Manon you are SO ADORABLE!!! And beautiful and sizzlin' hot! Did I forget stylin!!! Love your monkey hat...a woman has to have a lot of confidence to wear a sock monkey hat. What a fun fun post. Call me as soon as you get back to the desert...lunch, baby! **blows kisses** Deb
You are soo fun and cute! I think I will take your advice. Also, love the sock monkey hat!
lol...that was so cute and by the way its in the +'s where I live we just cracked our deep freeze of -30 weather. You made me smile today, thanks!
So much fun. So make winter seem like a gentle sea breeze :)

Oh my God I'm loving it. I have the same bootie socks in blue. har har
Now Ces, is just a total wimp. She cannot stand our freezers, while we can stand her ovens.
Love you and you look beautiful.
xoxoxo
i love your sock monkey hat :)
Hey everyone!! Thanks so very much! This whole post was inspired by Ces and Renee. Renee and I heard Ces complaining about the Texas cold. She's obviously never lived through a Canadian winter. We may have to fly her to Winnepeg in late January and then she'll appreciate 45 degrees!!
Ces..... i look forward to your Texan rebuttal.... bring it on sister...lol!
Ooooh and the monkey hat!! Yup... it's my favorite. It's a little childish but I love it!!
OMG you look like a J Crew model! You've got to have had modeling experience...am I wrong?
Mukluks and snow hearts too!?...
Like white on rice...
I'm all over you and all that you do.
Cheerful thoughts and images to warm the cockles of anyone's heart. Thanks, Manon of the beautiful name.
Sheila.... you are so wrong my friend!! I'm almost 5'5"..... not in model territory! LOL! If Sun Chips called, however, I think I'd have to promote their product!! Yum!
Looooved your post today Teri!!
Thanks Elisabeth!!
What fun photos and advice, Manon--LOVE it. Here in Coastal North Florida, we are ready for a break from the long overnights in the 20s. Since this is not normal for us, many do not have the right clothes (as per your suggestions) for cold days and colder nights. My favorite suggestion is to make hearts in the snow--that is archetypal Manon for sure!
Happy Happy New Year Manon!!
This is a funny funny post , it made me smile!
I am so glad the goddess made you smile Manon. Thank you! For coming by and for your very kind words.
A long time ago I had a woman in my life named Nanon and she was very wise, I think of her when I see your name.
Thank you!

That's the style Manon!!!Regards from a warm-warm Cape Town that has never even seen snow!!!

THREE BAGS OF SUN CHIPS!!! That is so sinful, almost terroristic taunt considering that I am really trying to be a good girl this week with my health kick!
Mary.... sneeze once and your temps will be back to normal...lol! We're stuck with this a little longer.
Marie.... i've never heard the name Nanon.... well... i guess not many have heard of my name...lol! I loved your Goddess!!
Linda.... i think I have an orange glow from all the preservatives they put on the cheddar chips...lol!
I wonder who this all around nice person is? mmmmm
Silke..... you're like Ces girlfriend!! lol
Tweedles..... you and your mom need the hat...lol!

Manon, this may seem like a silly word to use, but this whole post is adorable!! I love it. Just perfect!
And to Ces... my daughter and her husband are transplants to Dallas. She went to school in Virginia, lived there for a while, and has vowed never to return "home" to the grey skies and lake-effect snow.
Manon, you are seriously wonderful. What an awesome attitude and joy in life. I loved the painting in the snow!
Hi Manon!
What a wonderful post! It's so fun to see your pics! The ones I clicked on that took me to flickr didn't come through, but I imagine they are just as fabulous!
Have a great day you pretty thing and thanks for visiting and understanding my Mieko mush♥ haha
Good advice! It's been bitterly cold and snowy over here in the Irish-Dublin too, i'll edfinitely take some of your suggestions on board..! Cork and Waterford are great counties, been there loads, Cork especially is great craic!
Manon, I love you sweetie!
This put more smiles on my face than the most recent post by The Onion.
Yes, I'm cold here too.
But I'm cranking the heat and sitting on my fingers occasionally to warm them up.
But this is a good reminder to call the chimney guy today so we can finally have a fire again (birds, you understand...)
The hat rocks.
The boots are super cute
The slippers, warm and comfy.
Makes me want to just embrace winter.

Thanks Sharmon!!
Okay, you have 3 bags of Sun Chips, which I know are your favorite, and mine as well.
Are you willing to share?
You have out done yourself!
A great survival kit!
Love it!
I will have to buy 4 bags of sun chips tomorrow! I am drawing a little piece. Did you paint today?
I did paint today! If you look closely in the pic you'll see that I have 4 bags of heaven!!
Oh my gosh! yes you do have 4 bags. Oh gosh. This is not fair. I have to walk more than a mile during my lunch half-hour.
LOL! They have 18 grams of whole grain goodness...lol! With lots of wholesome preservatives...lol!
I noticed you left out the fat content!
Of course I did!! lol! *A moment on your lips a lifetime on your hips*...... 4 sure!!! LOL
I like it here. I dig your art and your spirit.
Warm regards,
Simone.
See! That is enough to knock some sense into me. I am not that industrious as you are when it comes to exercise. I worked from home today and was overwhelmed with requests and tasks so I missed my walk. Tomorrow I will have to double my mileage and I will think of you hugging your bag of Sun Chips and smile!
Have a great night Ces..... got to go to bed!!!
Goodnight Manon! Sleep tight!
hahahahahahahahahahhahahah....what a fantastic post Manon!!! you are a riot....I love all of these tips...and the great photos to go along....

Yes, I bet you Canadians have rather thick blood! (What a great collections of hats.) -Jayne
You are in my heart darling.

Am jealous of those boots, but we've just got over 5 days of 105 degrees so can do without them for now. LOVE the photos.
HA!...great shots, Manon! I especially like the one of you catching some rays in your studio.:)
I find the full spectrum studio lights to be a real treat during these dark, rainy, windy months. And filling our hearts with art - nothing better than that!
Good morning Sunshine! Wake up! Wake up!
I cannot get tired looking at these adorable photos of yours. They bring a smile to my face and a chuckle at the sight of Sun Chips bags!
You are a hoot! Hey, didn't I see that smile in #2 on FB in front of a cake??
Love these photos, and tips to live by, Manon.
Are you back from your walk yet? I played secretary and clerk this morning! I already earned my minimum wage salary for the day! Hahahaha!

Aaaaaw honey! I am so sorry it was difficult today. Sometimes that happens. We just walk away from it. Enjoy your dinner and relax. It will all come back to you. I am sending inspirational vibes - Ohmmmn...
a landscape through a window..... what the heck was I thinking? Now .... I'm obsessed with it!! lol
I hope your day was better!!
Oh yes dear Manon! You definitely can do that. Just walk away for awhile. It will come back.

I have not been around for a little while I went back home to see my family in Holland and was feeling a bit blue until I saw your post. You are so funny I love it!!!Thanks for cheering me up hon. And a bit late but Happy new year to you!!!
ManonXx
Ha such a fun post! It's a real winter also overhere in Holland. Sometimes i hate it when i had to go to work and it's snowing and freezing, but i would miss it when it's always sunshine. You look so pretty and cute. :-) I have another tip: drinking some delicious glühwein by the fire.
Sweet frosty greetz for you from a snowcovered Holland!
OK...I'm liking it. Here's a couple more to complete your original list of 10 things.
#9 Sip champagne (or scotch or gin) with your Snuggies on.
#10 Get a warm hug from all your friends.
Love ya. Great list!!!!
You sure know how to make the most out of winter, Manon - stylin'!
Dear Manon, this makes me laugh and smile every time I read and re-read it—thank you!
Beautifully and humorously done! Do more in the future!!!!
