Day 8 of the Art Every Day Month Challenge

How do you know if your art is heading in the right direction? My answer is to ask your mother...lol. Mine has been telling me lately how *da gurls are sooo beautiful*....yup.....I'm definitely heading in the wrong direction...lol. I used to like it when she saw them, called me and said in her French accent...*I don't know, Manon. Dey worry me. Are you sure you're ok?*. Ya.... I feel better when they don't look like prom queens and my mom really doesn't like them. Don't get me wrong because I love my mom with all my heart but I also know the kind of music she likes and the kind of art she likes and OMG......I better change this up pretty darn soon!!!

fill your heart with art

Hahahahahahaha, that's too funny. Well, in this case, your mother knows best. She's gorgeous. And I love the warm yellow/orange flourishes behind her.

I like the paintings, the ones you have been doing lately. I like the direction, but understand the concern. She may know what is good is good though, some of the time.

LOL too funny about your mom. But I know what you mean,my mom likes everything perfect and for years I always tried to make everything perfect and if it wasnt I would get so mad at myself. Then I found out that I don't like perfect, so now I do what I want and if I'm happy with it then thats all that matters. Oh sorry I didnt mean to write so much,I guess I got on the mom kick LOL. Anyway Your girls are gorgeous. And thanks for your sweet comments on my blog, she was done on a small canvas.

Hmmmmn, what do you want to do? Your gurls are beautiful indeed. Is it because they are a reflection of your current outlook?

Hahahaaa... I'm sure you mother would LOVE reading that!! :D :D :D

Could it be because your girls seem to be more "open" these days? Gorgeous as before, more chic in a way, and yet seem to be more willing to take off their veils? Oh, I don't know... I'm rambling... I just see less secrets and more "yes, this is me!"

Hugs! oxx

My daughter always used to tell me "it iws just not what I would wear mom"
Now she says I love this, I would buy that.
Maybe we have just come to the place where everyone is happy!
And I feel your mom is right.
"da gurl zhe iz zo beautiful"
Well done!
I liked them before though too!
I just like and love your art, it is from your heart.

HA! I understand your reasoning completely, trust me, I do. My mother always hates my hair! If she ever liked it, I'm sure I would run to my hair girl immediately! However, I could not disagree with you more regarding the direction of your art...I see gigantic growth and freedom. I see art that is flowing from your heart. I see beauty. I love the direction you are growing and going. **kisskiss** Deb
