For those of you that think I may have dropped out of the Art Every Day Month challenge........ you're sadly mistaken....lol. I am still doing something every single day. I must admit that some days have been a little tough but all in all it's pretty much what I do each day.

I sketched yesterday and I was thinking that I'm done with sketching.....yup.... all that work and then covering it up is not for me. I actually quite like having paintings that don't resemble an actual human being......lol. These sketches are making my art head in the wrong direction so I'm saying *goodbye* to them.

cranberries in cognac

So.... today I made cognac soaked chocolate cranberries......OMG!!! I'm not much of a dessert girl but these things are perfect. They are a little tart and sweet and then you throw cognac into the mix and ....mmmmmm.....heaven. This pic shows the cranberries soaking. They were in there for 3 weeks ...btw!!

chocolate

Some good semi sweet chocolate in a double boiler and once it's melted it's time to dip the cranberries.

chocolate covered cranberries

Yummy!!

fill your heart with art

Okay, so where do I start?

...I slipped on my saliva.

Chocolate!..Cranberries!..Cognac!..

This written word across her face, speaks volumes, and reads well. She can just keep going, lower and longer.

Cheers!

Oh golly gee, all I can think of now are those alcoholic chocolate cranberries. Once when the kids were small my friend made rum balls and having NO idea they were potent with alcohol, since they do not cook, I let my children eat some! I yi yi! I LOVE your sketches. Oh to have so much talent that you can choose which one you like! Amazing. So are your painting. And so are your cranberries. **kisskiss** Deb

Love, love, love your sketches, Manon. But only you know in which direction your art needs to head.

Paint on, and don't look back :)

"For those of you that think I may have dropped out of the Art Every Day Month challenge........ you're sadly mistaken..."

HAHAHAHHA! I don't think you will drop out. I imagine you cranking out these drawings and paintings everyday.

Manon, how do you prep your watercolor paper before painting? Do you use the block arches aquarelle or do you use the ones in rolls? Does the paper really matter? I am experimenting here. I am intending to use the regular Canson or Strathmore watercolor papers for practice. Why is sable so expensive? I want to have a whole set and the darn brushes costs hundreds of dollars! That's mighty expensive for just "experimenting." Ack! I am complaining on your blog. Sorry!

Oh, I wanted to say that the pixie-haired woman is pretty! I bet your mom is loving all these women. They are so beautiful and happy!

Manon,

Oh, I never doubted your resolve! I knew you could take the challenge to the very end.

I was still thinking about the chestnuts from Halloween, and here you go with cranberries! Yes, please!

Hope you are keeping warm up there, enjoy your weekend.

Take care,
Brian

I'm not a desert girl either, but that could change.
Those look yummy! and I like the painting with text, it has a nice 'mood'.

They are, Mary Helen!!

I'll send some over, Katelen!!

I'm only looking forward, Douglas!!

Awe....thanks, Buffy!

Cat.... I seem to wear a couple of different hats...lol!

Brian...I laughed when I read *chestnuts* because they were *buckeyes*...lol. I hope you and Gabriella have a nice vacation.

I felt I had to write on her face, Jane. Thank you!!

Ces......My mom is happy lately...lol.
Omg...i have some squirrel watercolor brushes and I guard them with my life because they were so expensive...lol. I have used both the block and the loose pieces of watercolor paper. I used to like the 300lb. The heavier the better for me. I would soak them in water for a bit and then let them dry. You don't need to do that with the block though.
I now use watercolor paper prepped with gesso for my acrylics.

Girl, I get sidetracked from my blog by life for a few weeks, and you start hittin' the cognac!
What am I gonna do wicha?

I love the way she turned out, Manon! She's gorgeous, and the blue is wonderful against her black hair. Great, empowering words, too! Careful now. If you eat too many of those cranberries, you may pass out and someone may take a sharpie and make you look like your painting. :)

Aww, so sad to see the drawings come to an end. But ultimately, you have to create what feels right in your heart.

Wooohoo! Nineteen days and counting! I would not have lasted three!

Manon Doyle said...

That's right, DJ! Better not stay away so long next time...lol....I need you to keep me on the straight and narrow!!

Hey, Bella....LOL! That kind of sounds like the old college days...lol. Don't pass out when your friends are still awake because you never know how you'll wake up!! : )))
