I've got so much going on right now that I'm looking for time to paint....yikes!! The other day I did get a chance to hightail it over to Blick's and bought my favorite 6" x 6" boards. I gave them all a coat of molding paste and threw on some more gesso. : )). Btw....I only spent an hour in there incase anyone was wondering.... : ))))

Yes, yes....it's always a mess on my palette. This is the good one actually....lol.

This is the start of a new painting. I will continue to paint her and figure out if the background will stay or go. I am the maker of mud.....that's what that background color looks like so far....lol.
fill your heart with art

lovely post .

OH, so much FUN FUN FUN! Daddy can take the T-bird away, as long as he lets me keep the paints! Looking good, Manon!
She's looking great so far - love the colour of that dress... lush!
J'ai hâte de voir la progression de cette dernière peinture...
J'aime votre palette, la mienne n'a jamais été grattée depuis plus de 25 ans!!!
Je vous fais de gros bisous
That's too funny, Caio!! I would of appreciated your input!! : ))) Hugs!
LOL, Bella!! Gotta keep the paints, girlfriend!! : )
Thanks, Lisa!!
Bonjour, Martine!! It's also a jump for me to try out new colors because I want to stay with the same things!! Kisses to you!!
I WAS wondering! Only an hour at Blick? What restraint! I'm excited for you, fresh boards all ready for you to start messing them up - and I mean that in the best way! Have fun.
That is just beautiful!! I love that painting in progress and all the boards you have in the works. And your palette - so happy!! Love, Silke
I love it all-especially the background! muted, subtle and rich with texture. Of course your girl is wonderful too. Only 1 hr. in Blick's - wow!
Love your new WIP!! looks great already! Oh how I wish I lived near a Blicks! I would be in there for hours and hours! lol
I find the process of your creative genius mind...fascinating.
Cheers!..to squeezing it all in.
Manon,
Are you trying to tease me with accounts of your art store visit? Mail order is NOT the same!
Smalls are good because the results are realized pretty quickly, and I think they look great!
I hope your week is going well!
Brian
Manon, you always bring light and joy to my heart when I read your posts and look at your art. The woman in the bottom photo looks familiar. She reminds me of the bad woman in Beethoven II. The lady who stole her ex-husband's St. Bernard...don't ask me why, but it tickles me!
Your background does not look like mud,I love all the texture in it so far. I don't know why but I love when paintings are half finished. I guess I just like that stage. Although I can't wait to see it finished! Hope you can find more time to paint!
It was a HUGE accomplishment, G!!! LOL. Usually it's much longer!!
It does appear to be a happy, bright palette, Silke!! : )
Awe.....thanks, Jane!!
Be careful what you wish for, Cathy!!
LOL!!! I'm not sure what to say to that, Teri!! Crazy mind maybe!! lol
Brian....nope...it's not the same!! lol. Definitely not!!
: PPP
I hadn't thought of that, Sherry!...lol. Glad she reminds you of her!! Btw....thanks for your lovely compliment!! : )
I kind of like them at this stage also, Buffy!! I'm looking for that time....lol!!
Pretty pretty pretty! Oh Manon, I have been so bad in thanking you for the most delightful surprise EVER!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! More than I can say. I'm thinking of drilling a hole in it and wearing it as a necklace charm, just so everyone knows!!! teehee. Soon as I detach the small child from myself I will get a frame for it and right here in my favorite room it shall hang. I love the colors you chose. It's a very happy reminder of how blessed I am to know you. Thank you, my friend, from the bottom of my wine glass (which is like my heart, but deeper). **kisskiss** Deb
Oh Manon, but what beautiful mud you make :)
call me weird but i always get excited at my palette's lovely mixtures of this and that and discover all kinds of combinations unknown to man that way :) love the textures you get with your pastes...xx
Oh to have an art shop like yours to 'browse' in! Even if it's just for one hour! Love this lady!

I love making the big mess....I need to do it more often. I need a wife to clean it up...I am still putting the Valentine mess away. I love your palette! Have a great weekend! Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
Gosh, she's beautiful already, Manon. Really she is..I love the pose! And I can't wait to see the background. I don't think it looks like mud..I think it's great so far (texture..just love it!).
I love to see how something begins and then the changes when it is complete.
That is how it is with some of our storys that I write.
