a little of this and that

love the small ones
©manon doyle

I've got so much going on right now that I'm looking for time to paint....yikes!! The other day I did get a chance to hightail it over to Blick's and bought my favorite 6" x 6" boards. I gave them all a coat of molding paste and threw on some more gesso. : )). Btw....I only spent an hour in there incase anyone was wondering.... : ))))

my mess
©manon doyle

Yes, yes....it's always a mess on my palette. This is the good one actually....lol.

a work in progress
9" x 12" work in progress on 300 lb watercolor paper

This is the start of a new painting. I will continue to paint her and figure out if the background will stay or go. I am the maker of mud.....that's what that background color looks like so far....lol.

fill your heart with art

I WAS wondering! Only an hour at Blick? What restraint! I'm excited for you, fresh boards all ready for you to start messing them up - and I mean that in the best way! Have fun.

I love it all-especially the background! muted, subtle and rich with texture. Of course your girl is wonderful too. Only 1 hr. in Blick's - wow!

Manon,

Are you trying to tease me with accounts of your art store visit? Mail order is NOT the same!

Smalls are good because the results are realized pretty quickly, and I think they look great!

I hope your week is going well!

Manon, you always bring light and joy to my heart when I read your posts and look at your art. The woman in the bottom photo looks familiar. She reminds me of the bad woman in Beethoven II. The lady who stole her ex-husband's St. Bernard...don't ask me why, but it tickles me!

Your background does not look like mud,I love all the texture in it so far. I don't know why but I love when paintings are half finished. I guess I just like that stage. Although I can't wait to see it finished! Hope you can find more time to paint!

It does appear to be a happy, bright palette, Silke!! : )

Awe.....thanks, Jane!!

Be careful what you wish for, Cathy!!

LOL!!! I'm not sure what to say to that, Teri!! Crazy mind maybe!! lol

Brian....nope...it's not the same!! lol. Definitely not!!

Pretty pretty pretty! Oh Manon, I have been so bad in thanking you for the most delightful surprise EVER!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! More than I can say. I'm thinking of drilling a hole in it and wearing it as a necklace charm, just so everyone knows!!! teehee. Soon as I detach the small child from myself I will get a frame for it and right here in my favorite room it shall hang. I love the colors you chose. It's a very happy reminder of how blessed I am to know you. Thank you, my friend, from the bottom of my wine glass (which is like my heart, but deeper). **kisskiss** Deb
