if at first it doesn't work....breathe

May the stars carry your sadness away,
May the flowers fill your heart with beauty,
May hope forever wipe away your tears,
And, above all, may silence make you strong.

I usually try not to fuss too much with my paintings. I just like to let them happen whether it be good, bad or indifferent. This one was a bit of an exception. I had intentions of making her blanket/coat pretty and bright but every time I looked at her in this way it wasn't working for me so I decided to take a bit of a breather. After an occasional quick peak over the last few weeks I felt that the coat should be plain and I should shift my focus to her face. She spoke to me in this way. I'm not quite sure if I'm done yet but she feels better already. : ))

fill your heart with art

The vibrancy of her heart is shining right through that goat. Well done.
Now, she has something more to show, something more to shed, something more to reveal, for real.

Cheers!

The plain coat and the painted face is beautiful! The other is gorgeous too but the first evokes a Native American flair. Love it.

Gros bisous.

I'm glad you decided to work on her a bit more. She shows so much more soul now. Love the "feel" of her. :)

Isn't it great how the same expression in her face can take on a completely different meaning! Wow! Very cool paintings.

I do like the experimentation. It does create for imaginations of course the potential for more interesting stories.

The emphasis on her face is terrific - she's beautiful.

i love the raw emotion coming out in your work....and love this with the plain against her gorgeous, provocative face....your work gets better and better. xoxo

Aaaahhhhhh! She is sad, happy, sad, happy... an artist has the power to create and present any emotion. You have that great gift Manon. How are you? I have been so busy and bored at the same time. It's summer and so my work picks up. I am once again assigned to a very big project and while I have to be thankful, I also lament the pain in my neck from stress. So glad to be painting again though. Have a wonderful weekend. Tsup!!!

Well Manon, you have turned this one into something enigmatic, soulful and
just plain animal. Amazing what red and woad will do to a woman!

This is magnificent. I think you have opened a door here. I'm steppin' through!

The same base...two completely different feelings. I love the intensity of the red streaking down her face.
