When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.
~Lao Tzu
I have quite a few paintings on the go and I'm bouncing around working on whatever suits me for the given moment. This is the one that has been on my easel the last few days. She was a paint over....go figure....lol. I liked what I had before but she feels better now. Even though I see a few things I could fix I'm calling her *done*. She actually looks much better in person. I can't get the right light to take a pic so she looks a little washed out. Anyway...lol..... I think I like this one! : ))

I wanted to post the photo of the collaborative project we did in my enameling workshop at Haystack. Each of us enameled a leaf and then our teacher, Barbara Minor, put it together using rubber!! Pretty cool!!

Gorgeous, Manon!! She is absolutely stunning! Love her face and those big butterfly wings. And then shawl. Heck, I love it all!! And that necklace is wonderful! Who got to keep it? Teacher?! Hugs, Silke
OMG, the necklace is fabulous. So cool that it was a collaboration, and I love the way Barbara put it together.
That necklace is awesome! I also was wondering who gets to keep it, or will you each get to borrow it and then pass it along to the next collaborator? Lovely painting too, great mood.
It's really pretty on, Linda!! There are two smaller leaves that come down on the back also!
Thanks, Theresa!!
Thank you, Cathy!!
Hey, Silke!!! The necklace was auctioned. The last night at Haystack there was an auction of some of the artwork that was made. It was a ton of fun!!
Hey, Lisa! Barbara is a fantastic artist!! She did a wonderful job putting it all together!!
Thanks so much, G!!!!

You are just so talented, Manon! The painting is beautiful, and the your necklace is just gorgeous. I hope you're having wonderful days over there... :)

Manon,
This painting is beautiful. I love the butterfly ~ such a perfect addition to an already beautiful painting. The texture is amazing ~ it really shows up in the closeup.
The necklace is gorgeous, Manon. Someone is very lucky to be wearing it now. I'm glad you at least have a nice photo of the collaboration. Haystack sounds like an unforgettable experience.
Glad to see you back at the easel.

Hey Manon, well this is full of spiritual, mystery and metaphor. I think it is singing ..... :) Yes I can hear it .....
Ahh do you play with your histograms? I once told an nice older lady I met at an efter exhibition party that I had admired her finials from afar for a long long time ....... it turned out she was the art critic in our big paper here... now I know why my good friend and teacher was standing behind her waving his arms at me to shut up while he was mouthing silently "NO NO NO NO NO!"... :)
as yes... in photoshop go to Enhance>Lighting Effects> Levels and play with the sliders. After making a copy of your layer of course 0- then fiddle with the opacity of the new layer to fine tune the effect - it gives your pics more pizzaz :) (not that yours need it)
What a gorgeous necklace! Love the butterfly; adds a kind of ethereal sense to this magical painting!
She's Gorgeous! And that necklace is stunning!
She is beautiful. I love the butterfly. :)
Anne.... I think I should make an artist's retreat a yearly thing!! I also think I should talk some of my blogger girlfriends into going along!! You'd fit the bill....lol....for sure!!!
Thank you so much, Amalia!! Hope you got my message on FB!!
Awe....thanks, Diana!! I so enjoy your updates on FB. I drool every time you post a picture of your meals!! : ))
Hey, Audrey!! Glad you got the postcard. I was happy to send it to you!! Ya....I had a great experience!!
Omg, Andrew!!! Nice that you could admire an art critic's finials....LOL!!!
Nope....Photoshop and I? It's a recipe for disaster!!! It sounds all good and I probably could really fix some of my paintings but the frustration factor for me....lol.....would not be worth it!!!
Thanks, Buffy!!
Thanks, Miz Katie!!!
oh my gosh manon!
both pieces gave me goosebumps!
simply wonderful!
Hello dearest friend. Thank you for your visits and well wishes. I have been reading your blog in silence. Thank you for sharing the things you learned at Haystack. I especially love the photo of you and your fellow Canadian with the wine bottles. :) Another exquisite painting from you. You just keep cranking them.
Beautiful! I especially like the close up of her face.
