dry skin?

ingredients

It's that time of year!!! It's the time of year when some of us start feeling a little like shedding snakes. My skin has been super dry here in Arizona and the humidifier just isn't doing the whole JOB. I love to use scrubs because they really do work. My favorites are the ones made with sugar. Last year my mom and I made this brown sugar scrub and I just loved it. Today I put a few jars together to have on hand.

You will need.........

- 1 cup dark brown sugar (if you don't want it too oily use more sugar)
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil (you can substitute other oils such as almond oil or vegetable oil.... I actually used vegy oil today)
- 2 tablespoons vitamin E oil
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- a container with a lid on it. I used mason jars but anything will do. Be careful not to drop anything that is glass in your bath or shower.

Mix it all together!!! Smells so yummy!! I used more than four cups of sugar and adjusted my measurements because I needed to fill three mason jars. You can play around with this to get to something you like. Remember that when you go to use it you'll have to mix it a bit because it will definitely separate.

Gros bisous

My skin is ready for a miracle...and thanks to you I might have found it! The Bath and Body Works has sugar scrubs but they are quite expensive on my pocketbook. Thank you dear friend. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

Hello Arizona Girl!
Snake skin? We cannot have that. This Sugar Scrub sounds good enough to eat. I love the smell of vanilla and brown sugar ~ no problem smearing this all over me.
Thanks for the recipe. Did I thank you for the PC?? Really nice addition to my collection. Thank you, sweet Manon. xo When are you coming home?

Ah! Yes. Lick me or bite me, then because the ingredients of this scrub sounds like a health bar. Just add granola.

I always make my sugar scrub with turbinado sugar. Does the brown sugar work better? I'll have to try this. I just made about 8 jars though so I'll have to wait till next time. I put almond in mine but didn't think of honey. Love, love, love sugar scrub :)

Hey, so that is your secret, how you have the skin of a 12 year old.? You know, I was getting hungry just reading that. Maybe I need to see my shrink again (Bella has volunteered :) :)

My secret? Well every day I have a morning bath made from three parts goat milk to one part of olive oil and one part of vaseline. You have to shake it a lot to get it to work properly and I have a small motor from my uncles runabout that I stick in the bath to mix it all up - not too much because the goat's milk can curdle.... Admittedly it is a problem getting the vaseline out of my hair though :)

I will try your method next. Next time you see me I should be three times more beautiful (hard to imagine eh?) :0

see you, from Oz

awww, my comment didn't post last night. Anyway, I love sugar scrub. Just made a big batch and was wondering if the brown sugar works better than turbinado.
